Hi wat, and thanks. They are pretty fun to have around. And little 'Cuse is about as sweet as they come. Sage is a bit too energetic to show her sweet side yet.
They are cute. I raise goats, but like almost all furry animals.
I am a bit concerned by the tightness of the collar around the calves necks in your photos. I haven't read your blog before, and this is my first visit, so I may be off here, but it seems that they are tied very closely to the pole, and the tie is hay baling twine(?). Seems a bit too short/tight etc.
Hi Jane. It is just the way she is standing and how the photo came out. They really aren't either tight or too short. Just short enough to keep them from getting their legs wound up in them or hanging themselves. And using baling twine to tie up young calves is a very common practice, as it is handy and cheap, and young calves necks are often far to small for collars to fit.
