Herd Health

Well, we did herd health today. Got some good news and some bad news. Good news was that 114, Spruce, and KPAT Drive are all pregnant. Bad news was that 72, 481 (Star), and 146 are all open. And the worst news was that Soir, little miss crazy cow, is pregnant. She is probably the ONLY cow in the barn we would have liked to find open. Nobody really wants to keep her around another lactation. She is just plain mean. Oh well. Got a couple of other cows that aren't cycling at all. We figure they'll come around once spring comes and we can get them out on pasture.

Yeah well if that is your plan then maybe I should pay some visits and get to know her. You know make friends. HAHA I'm more interested in going to one of the auctions. They sound quite interesting.

Well, there's one out in schaghticoke may 5th at 11. But I think that's the closest one that's up now. According to Dad 'the master of pedigrees', horace backus, is working the sale. So that will probably be a really good one. I'm thinking about going down, even though the animals will probably go through the roof price wise. Should be some more later in the year. I'll let yah know and you can go along with me if yah want. OHM club sales usually in late sept early oct and we usually head out to that.

and of course you can come down and get to know her. give her a bath, hair cut, all that fun stuff...

I have to make plans to stop by and drop off everyone's b-day gifts. I even found something for you in TN.
